Two Subarus in the workshop at the same time, each with a different job underway. In this behind-the-scenes update from Luca Motors in Alphington, we show an engine being removed, the seals and gaskets involved, and another Subaru undergoing an engine replacement.
Subaru one: rear main seal and gasket work
The first Subaru has its engine removed for rear main seal replacement, rocker cover gasket replacement and sump gasket work.
Our video takes you into the workshop during removal and gives you a closer look at the rocker covers and gaskets. The photos also show the rear main seal area before replacement and the new seal fitted into the cleaned housing.
It is a useful view of the work behind parts you would not normally see during an everyday visit to the workshop.
Subaru two: a separate engine replacement
Alongside the seal and gasket job, we are working on another Subaru that is having its engine replaced. These are two separate vehicles and two separate repair jobs, captured during the same period in our workshop.
The footage is a workshop progress update. It shows selected stages of the work rather than the complete repair process.
